Seal coating is a process that you really should look into if you are looking to have a parking lot or a road that you want to be smoother for cars to ride. It is also going to be a great way to actually protect the surface itself from damage that could be coming from other factors. What we are going to be doing basically is adding another layer above the actual asphalt. The idea is that this is something that can help extend the overall life span of these types of structures.
Does This Really Work?
At this point in time, we could say that even if you don’t know it yet, at one point or another you have driven on a road that had had, seal coating applied to it. There are certain factors that kind of give it away. The natural gray color that you are going to get from asphalt is going to turn into a much more darker color. If it works for public roads that are going to be getting probably much more traffic than what you can expect to get on your driveway or other areas, we can pretty much assure you that it works just fine. You can try for yourself!
Is This A Must?
Would we consider this process as something that you need to do? Really it depends on the type of surface that we are talking about. If you have a parking lot or any type of area where you may get a lot of heavy-duty traffic the answer should be pretty simple. Yes, this process is going to help the area a whole lot. That being said, if we are talking about a patio or even a driveway going through this process is not going to be a must. Yet, getting it done, does not hurt.
How Long Does The Effect Last?
A lot of companies that actually sell the product are going to say that it will “protect” the asphalt for 3 to 5 years. In reality, we have seen the effects begin to wear down in around 2 years tops. The thing is the duration of the actual effects are going to depend on the type of traffic that the area gets and where it happens to be located. That makes it a bit more difficult to pinpoint not only the duration of the benefits if you want to see it that way but also what we could do after these benefits have gone away.
Helps Against Heavy Duty Traffic
If we had to pick what really causes trouble for asphalt surfaces we would have to say that it is heavy-duty traffic. Over time large trucks can really begin to wear out the surface. This is one of the things that we are going to be able to do to protect the surface. Hopefully, allow it to stand up a lot better to heavy-duty traffic as well as other types of challenges. We also offer snow plowing service.
